Specialization helps candidate acquire requisite skills and development experience to ensure a journey of accelerated growth in technology leadership.

Eligibility

Admission to the School of Engineering is done through Entrance Examination conducted by the University and others such as CET and DSAT examinations

Pass in B.E. / B.Tech examination with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in relevant field and DSAT / GATE / PGCET score.

Engineering & Entrepreneurship programs Admission- DSAT Scores and Interviews

Admission to the MTech in Engineering & Entrepreneurship programs would go through a special interview process in addition to DSAT Scores. Applicants have to submit their original ideas which they feel are good for transition into finish products. This national level selection would be routed through an eminent panel of industry experts, scientists, investors, researchers and academicians; and potential mentors/ adjunct professors.

Dayananda Sagar University Launches Post Graduate Computer Science Engineering Programs in association with IBM

IBM Software Lab for Emerging Technologies to provide world class software education to graduate students

Bengaluru, July 24, 2015: IBM (NYSE: IBM) has collaborated with Dayananda Sagar University (DSU), to launch three new Post graduate programs under the Faculty of Computer Science Engineering with specialization in Cloud Computing, Big Data & Analytics and Internet of Things (IoT).

Under this collaboration and in line with IBM Education program, the organization will set up IBM Software Lab for Emerging Technologies at the Institute’s Bangalore campus that will help students and faculty members master advanced Information Technology (IT) skills needed for 21st century workplace.

Dr. D Premachandra Sagar, Pro Chancellor, Dayananda Sagar University commented, “DSU is an institute with a dedicated focus around technologies and practices that drive Innovation. Our partnership with IBM provides our students in-depth skills in emerging technologies and enables them to explore global opportunities. The specializations in the area of Big Data, Cloud Computing and IoT will ensure that industry gets highly skilled talent to accelerate innovation across domains.”

In addition, IBM will help develop an innovative curriculum for the programs that will be jointly delivered by IBM subject matter experts from its software labs and university faculty. Relevant IBM software and curriculum content will be available to the faculty members and students in the lab to earn credits towards their degrees, and classes will be conducted by IBM experts. A joint committee is also being setup between the university and IBM that will continuously recommend on course curriculum, content and delivery.

Dr. M. G. Anantha Prasad
Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Product Design and Advanced Materials from VTU, Belgaum.

Dr. Anantha Prasad holds a Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Product Design and Advanced Materials from VTU, Belgaum. Published more than 48 papers in International/national journals & conferences and 01 patent in his credits. He has 18 years of teaching experience and 08 years of research experience. He was also the recipient of the prestigious Commonwealth Professional Fellowship (2015) to undergo specialized training at Loughborough University, UK. He has worked in different capacities as a faculty at different engineering institutions and has grown tremendously over the years. He has worked in different capacities like Placement officer, Head-IEDC, Head-TBI, Dean (Student Welfare). In addition to his duties as a faculty, he has successfully initiated and lead many innovative programs benefiting the students and the institution. It is because of his friendly approach and intuitive thoughts, he is well regarded in the professional circle. As a Placement Officer, he was able to invite many multi-national companies to the campus and has transformed the lives of many students. His contacts were able to fetch huge funding to the institutions through various student and other research projects. He also has the credibility of completing many funded projects as its principal investigator and co- investigator. He has been a party to many entrepreneurial programs and has organized several of them through which innovative ideas were kindled amongst students and some of them have also seen the light of the day. In addition to his novel initiatives, he has served as a key member of BOS, BOE and Academic Councils of several technical institutions. He has facilitated and chaired many faculty development programs and has played a pivotal role in identifying key personnel as chief guest, guest of honor and keynote speakers. He has also served as the convener of many national and international workshops and conferences on various topics and has the credit of presenting papers in similar events organized by other institutions. In general, Dr. Anantha Prasad is a very enterprising person through his words and deeds and is willing to contribute to the betterment of any institution at his best.

M.Tech in Automotive Electronics (Specialization in Automotive embedded systems)


One of the fastest domains is the automotive sector where several Electronics Control units (ECU) are used to control and manage various units in the car. A modern car has as many as 100 ECU’s. As per the report by IC Insight, the value of semiconductor in the vehicles has moved from $268 to $425 per vehicle and the number of smart vehicles has moved from 15 million in 2009 to over 55 million in 2014. This program is designed as a simulated embedded lab for the automotive sector.
